WOODLAND VILLAGER

I picked up this floral bodysuit during my June trip to LA. I found it at my friend Lola's frock swap and relished the challenge of incorporating such an unusual garment into an outfit. Not only is it a one-piece, but it's a one-piece with snap buttons, long sleeves, and a sassy collar. It looks characteristic of a pastoral village near a forest somewhere far away. With that theme in mind, I fastened this blue flower crown to match the decorative floret pattern. The shoes are another story and a half! Madeline gifted them to me when I visited her bomb dot com pad in K-town. From one fashion blogger's closet to another!

I'm not a huge fan of high-low skirts and dresses because they still feel a bit trendy to me. Nonetheless, I love me a creative hemline and appreciate any opportunity to show off my gams while simultaneously enjoying the mystique of a maxi. Basically, this skirt is the sartorial manifestation of having your cake and eating it too. I'm hoping that the style will stand the test of time... maybe then I'll savor its ubiquity in the fashion world!

ROSETTE

Oh pink, did you miss me?? I missed you so much that I tried to put as much as I had of you into one outfit. Ur sooo cute... I think I'm crushing! :-* Do you <3 me as much as I <3 you? Do I do you justice? Are you embarrassed to be seen on my body? Omg, that was just a rhetorical question... I can't believe you rlly think I am undeserving of ur presence. I guess this is it then. :-(Jk pink, we will never be over. Even if my love for you is unrequited, you are still a perfect pigment. Every night I will dream of your heavenly hue. My favorite shade in the spectrum, my sweet, delicate rose. My tulip. My beloved #FFCOCB.

This outfit looks like a costume, but did you really expect anything less from me? I've always been super committed to my color themes. I'd like to incorporate as much fuchsia and fluorescent into my wardrobe this season. I always do come spring time since I'm in such an awesome mood (shout out to THE SUN for keepin' it warm and real, also, peace and love to my Mama for delivering me on May 7th so I have something to look forward to all through April.) The happier the person, the BRIGHTER the clothes they wear *camera pans to me wearing my fluorescent orange crop top with a smile so wide it extends off of my face and eventually pulverizes the walls on either side of me, plaster falling everywhere and drool pouring out of mouth* SERIOUSLY THOUGH, I am feeling pretty fantastic!!!!

I realize now that this bag we're selling on the Fabulous Stains would have matched my outfit perfectly. So if you're on the hunt for a staple summer bright in the form of a patent leather cross-body bag, now ya know where Waldo is. In the best Etsy store of all time, The Fab Stains!

Finally, I get to acknowledge where the title of this post came from... my new Cynthia Sanita clogs in Fuchsia. They're covered in hot pink rosettes! When I saw them in the online catalog, I figured it was just the print that had psychedelic pink swirls. Nope, that shit is 3-D! Which makes my amazing clogs a TACTILE experience, not just a pleasant gander. And there's always more on Clog Outlet and Sanita!

SHE IS †HE NEW †HING

I'm finally back from my week and a half in Los Angeles and readier than EVER to premiere all the wonderful clothes bestowed upon me by friends, foes, and flea markets. I've been jumping with eagerness to debut this especially sheer night shawl, which I wore yesterday to school, then to the mall. Felt dangerously tempted to say "take a picture, it lasts longer" when my classmates stared incredulously, but then again I'd probably have a similar reaction if I saw someone else wearing this get-up casually in public. But not out of disbelief. Instead, out of bitterness that they can likewise assemble such a witchy uniform... *wink*

I've been in New York since Wednesday. Lived, learned, cried my eyes into swollen oblivion and laughed them back open again. Rapped my throat hoarse and danced my toes raw. Rode the train, crossed the bridge, kissed the concrete, made love to the graffiti. I'm home.

COOL KIDS NEVER HAVE THE TIME

It's 1995. Cold pizza for breakfast, burgers for lunch, and whatever I want for dinner whenever I want to eat it. Mountain dew, late curfew, skateboard and circle sunglasses. Got my flannel on and I'm ready to run. Watching the Simpsons on a school night and leaving my homework in the dog dish. School sucks, adults are lame, and the future doesn't matter. Life is what happens before the sun goes down. Kicking vending machines full-time, carving my name into school desks till the lunch bell rings. Principal in the hallway, I'm too grunge to care. Get out of my room, Mom.
