I'm probably
too fond of this velvet-blazer-and-floppy-hat combination, because it means that I'll be wearing it way more often than is socially acceptable this winter. So I can either tame my obsession, OR I can buy more floppy hats and velvet blazers. I think I'll go with the latter. My outfit hardly has a theme, but perhaps you could call it a cross between cosmopolitan, collegiate, and a distantly related cousin of something nautical. The skirt is from my best friend
Jessi, who bought if off eBay years ago and cast it aside in her GIGANTIC closet. I guess if you had a billion pastel tutus, you'd probably forget about vintage ruffle skirts every once in a while. Either way, I saved this one from abandon! Aye aye.
FROM TOP TO BOTTOM:
Floppy hat - August, for Macy's
Blazer - Ralph Lauren
Scarf - Chanel
Skirt - Jessi's closet
Wedges - Nine West
I think it's really fun/funny to wear outfits like these the day after I wear an outfit that looks like a chicly rolled out of a dumpster (choker necklaces still intact.) People get really confused by kids like me who wear drastically different themes every day. For the record, yesterday I sported a cyber-goth raver get-up as a "visual aid" for a speech I gave in journalism about the Hollywood club scene. Maybe I'll post a few pics.

ReplyDeleteYou look SO good here, very stylish.
ReplyDeleteI love your floppy hat! I have been meaning to try this little trend out. I feel like when you put on a floppy hat you are easily adding sophistication to your outfit. Floppy hats just make an outfit so much more dramatic, almost theatrical. I also like how you paired you socks with wedges. If I wore socks with wedges to my school, people would look at me like I'm weird. Apparently they remind people of the socks with sandals "nerd" look. My school doesn't understand true fashion. To them high fashion is Ugg boots and Sperry Top-Siders. That is why I express myself at my fashion blog..
