WILD THING

Do I make ya heart sing?? This look is inspired by the drive-ins and diners of the 1950s. I loved the styling and cinematography in the music video for Neon Trees' "Everybody Talks," so I took cues from the costume department and created an ensemble with nods to classic old-school elements, like heart shaped sunglasses and silk scarves. The check print on the circle skirt reminds me of something you'd see at Peggy Sue's roadside diner near Barstow. And the bomber jacket - with a modern, asymmetrical hem - adds some retro high school magic to the mix, like I'm a senior going steady with the quarterback and wearing his letterman to the football game.

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM:

Sunglasses - Gift
Scarf - Vintage
Allison Vesty Jacket - JOVONNA LONDON
"Wild thing" top - Secondhand
Belt - Natural Colour
Check skirt - ROMWE
Oxfords - Macy's

This jacket is TOO cool, cooler than what I even deserve. The elastic hem slopes downward toward the front, creating a futuristic dip that I've never seen before in a jacket. It's from the Jovonna London AW/12 Collection, which features asymmetrical cuts-a-plenty. The selection ranges from dresses with diagonal skirts and high collars, to sequined gowns with mesh overlay, and knits in the sweater, coat, and crochet jumper variety. In other words, if you're seeking practical pieces for a glamorous moto-mermaid, you'll go bananas for Jovonna London's latest. Check out the site right here!

Everything is infinite,
