FALL for FLORALS

Kind of a typical concept: unconventionally conventional picnic prints like gingham checks and floral amid the browns, yellows, and reds of Autumn. In Vegas, we don't have the pleasure of watching trees shed their leaves, so it's easy to forget that 'tis the season for sweaters, not pastel brights and miniskirts! I'm celebrating these last few days of mild November breezes with a corduroy blazer and sleeveless blouse.

My sister wrinkled her nose at the combination of my pale peach blazer and pinkish red check skirt. But I wrinkled my nose right back at the concept of a PERFECT MATCH. I'm all about pulling out random colors from the print in a vivid garment elsewhere in my ensemble, then hilighting them with pieces that make for a complimentary pairing. Peach and magenta may not seem like a likely couple at first glance, but they look divine in the floral pattern on my mint blouse, so I'mma rock it. Booyah. Thanks a million billion, American Apparel, for gifting me this amazeballs gingham skirt. It keeps my spirits SPRINGY. ^-^
