As badly as I’d like to go full force with the tropical theme, you can’t SERIOUSLY expect me to evict black from my wardrobe. There’s GONNA be days this winter when I’m like “no, if I wear the rainbow galaxy leisure suit people might think I’m inviting conversation.” Sometimes you just wanna wear something that keeps passersby at a safe distance. Like layers of spikes from literally head to toe. 

Before I go, just want to make EXTRA sure that you're paying EXTRA attention to my spankin new pair of studded boots. Tusc Boutique treated me to these guys and I've been in a spiked-leather-induced bliss for the past couple weeks. Every single person reading this needs to invest in a pair of military boots. STEEL CARNATION

I solemnly swear that EVENTUALLY I will stop talking about my new hair which isn't even new anymore... today is not that day. I can't help but draw a comparison between the subtle sheen of my severe side part and the glossy metallic of my Goodnight Macaroon blazer, decorated in a delicate gray carnation print. The color scheme (or lack thereof) is industrial and cold, but compensated for by the flirtatious blouse bow hanging from my neck. I kept consistent with the futuristic business casual theme and slipped into a pair of iridescent purple/silver Pink and Pepper loafers and dress pants, also from Goodnight Macaroon! My friend Michael Shirley, the it-boy mastermind behind Doctor Couture and Mic, gifted me this leather bag in 2011 and I've since used it every day to store my necessities. Instead of individually transferring all my possessions from purse to purse when I need a new bag to match an ensemble, I grab my clutch and toss it in. I don't know how I survived before this clutch entered my life... and now I'm wondering how I didn't think to simply carry the bag on it's own without placing it inside a larger tote! It looks divine in my hands, or tucked efficiently under one arm. So it's a bag within a bag, and sometimes just a bag. Mucho love and infinite THANKS to Michael for hooking me up with what it is sincerely the most practical gift I have ever received. ^-^

SPIKE IT

Pretty sure a "spike" has something to do with volleyball (cue me resenting that I took gym class for granted in high school,  just like every other diva who pretended sneakers and perforated running shorts weren't cool but now realize that athleticism is All The Rage) buuuuut I'm more familiar with spikes of the DECORATION variety. Little pointy things that make my cross sweater even cooler and more tactile. Don't hug me too hard. Paired with my trusted sweat/slacks from Yes Style and rhinestone-encrusted sneaker wedges from Boohoo. Only thing better than a platform kick is a platform kick that glitters in the light. ;-)

It's gonna be a painfully long while before you see a hat on my head that isn't a beanie or snapback. And this bag is not going ANYWHERE except over my shoulders. I brought it with me to LA three weeks ago and by the time I made it home, the edges of the pockets were all worn away, even though it was brand spankin' new the night before I left. There's no such thing as partying too hard. Just enough or not at all.
