Don't mind me, I'm on my way back from the symphony. Yes, I conduct orchestras. I also compose sonatas and play the harpsichord in my free time. This is one of my more casual outfits... normally I wear a fitted tailcoat and bow tie, but tonight I wanted to be just a tad more comfortable. So I'm wearing a fuzzy cardigan and high-waisted cords! I wear black and white every single solitary day of my life as a testament to my obsession with conducting. You can't see it, but there's actually a small baton in my pocket. In some of my photos, I'm reaching in there to touch it. It's like my good luck charm... keeps me sane. I like the way it jabs at my thigh when I sit down because it reminds me of my precious career. I'm not married, so I sleep with a book of sheet music at night. Who needs babes when you got Beethoven??

Just wanna throw a little shout out there to my friend Peter who I met on my trip to Israel and learned is an actual music conductor. You would never guess because he wears jeans, not fancy piano composer clothes like I do everyday. Just joshin. But seriously, he knows his stuff!!!! Miss ya Peter!

ReplyDeleteHey! I've been a silent fan of yours for over a year now, found one of your outfits on Lookbook and have been following ever since! Can you tell me about your eye makeup? ... it always looks incredible! Do you use a gel eyeliner? Doesn't it smudge during the day? I've tried similar but I always wind up with it running down my face :/ MJ x
