ASLEEP AT A PARTY

Have you ever fallen asleep at a party? Your body, feeling so in tune with the steady energy of clinking glasses, humming voices, and reverberating stereo soundwaves, simply sinks into a deeper trance beneath the floorboards and couch cushions and lets the scene around you evaporate into oblivion... Perhaps I set myself up for experiences like these by wearing night gowns, robes, and other vintage intimates. This mint green and white sheer robe completely manifests the essence of an ambient excitement, the kind where you're so thrilled to be where you are that you stop for a second to blink, just to affirm that its real, and unwillingly slip into a pastel dreamstate. One of my friends labeled this look "good witch". If only I had a proper wand...

Notice anything different?? It's my bedroom! The furniture is all the same (and thankfully the wall color, too) but recreating my traditional photo setting in this new environment hasn't quite been the breeze I expected. The sun hardly shines through my windows despite them being the same shape and floor-to-ceiling size as before, which leaves my new corner cast in shadows and darkness. Even so, I tried my best with these pictures of a minimalist outfit I wore to a bookstore in Echo Park last week in Los Angeles!

I did another photoshoot for The Cobrashop in Vegas last weekend at a vacant lot outside of McDonalds. OF COURSE I was crazy inspired by the dumpsters and debris. Would you expect any more- or any less- from moi?

PASTEL X SOPHIE THEALLET

While I was in Los Angeles, I came across a tiny little pair of pastel popcorn shorts with Easter-esque frills at a vintage shop called SQUARESVILLE. I brought them home to my humble abode (which, at the time, was a husky black suitcase crammed into my friend's walk-in closet) and held them up to every article of clothing I'd brought with me. When I paired them with my newest pair of shoes (at the time, completely unworn and desperate for debut) my heart danced about my chest, delighted by my sweet discovery. Eventually, my entire flowery get-up flowed into fruition and resulted in this everlastingly romantic ensemble.
