JORDAN ALMOND

I take pride in my ability to draw outfit inspiration from Jordan almonds. Not sure how good they taste (I'm allergic to raw almonds, so I'll pass on the whole flavor-experimentation process) but I am POSITIVE that they look effin' gorg in the Easter aisle at every grocery store. I picked out my favorite babydoll garments to wear with this especially lacy look. Indeed I look like I just rolled out of a crib, but is that supposed to be an insult? Because I think it's The Compliment of all Compliments *shakes a baby rattle in a Z-shape with pizzazz like you've never seen.* Robin's Egg Blue, Carnation pink, and banana yellow coalesce into a perfectly pale palette for pastels. Sometimes, when a trend is good enough (and EGAD pastels are beyond good enough) I surrender to it and maybe even dedicate one square foot of my wardrobe to that theme. But I've been reppin' Easter eggs since 2010 so BOOYAH, fashion industry. I already know wassup. Everybody can benefit from having their spirits lifted by a cuddly cupcake color scheme. Peep!!!!!

I noticed that at least 50 looks a day on Lookbook have titles that include the word "mint" or "pastel" or "Spring." I can't tell if people think that hoppin' on the buzzword bandwagon will get them more attention... doesn't conforming to a standard make you even less noticeable? Here are some alternatives for you guys: sea foam, aquamarine, turquoise, teal, cerulean, azure, cyan, green tea, or robins' egg. As for naming your look "Pastels for Spring!" COME ON, I know you're better than that. Do your outfit some justice and name it something original. Me and my bestie Spencer are super into inventing characters and back stories for all of our ensembles... he kinda reminds me of Roger from American Dad sometimes. Obviously because Roger is everybody's favorite. And he's sharp as a spike on a choker from Hot Topic.

PETTI PEARL

Wow, hate to get all uber-relevant-pop-culture-reference on you guys, but doesn't this outfit seem kinda Lana Del Rey? Sorry. I killed it. I DESTROYED whatever dignity this angora sweater once had by comparing it to a presence that has already oversaturated every corner of the internet, my blog officially included. Now that I've apologized, I need to ask you a personal question. Do you think this collar would have looked better if accented by a flower crown? And should I have sat on a throne instead of posing with this predictable beige background in my bedroom? Yeah, y'all. This red loveseat isn't foyer furniture - it's the pride and joy of my sleeping quarters. Love it or hate it. It's still my lil precious. *kisses the velvet* LDR is probably somebody's lil precious, too. Maybe all my fans are her fans. Small world, Lana! Let's collab on floral wreaths.

A few keywords for my outfit that save me from having to explain what inspired it: lolita, cake, pearls, fuzz, angel, angel pastel schoolgirl flower child, angel hair pasta, Angel Leiberman (if you don't know who that is, GET OUT, if you do, leave a comment below and I will send you a personal message thanking you for being a wonderful human being who I want to eat a perfectly good piece of pizza Miranda with), pale, sweet, extremely soft.

MYSTERE

I'm sure you've heard people talking about how they choose what to wear according to how they feel that day. Well, assuming that you dress yourself as soon as you wake up, there's not a huge range of emotions to pick from when evaluating your general mood. Nonetheless, I think this look would best suit me on a day when I woke up and felt quiet and shy. Sounds absolutely absurd to know how quiet and shy you are before you've even left the house, but I guess sometimes you hop out of bed and aren't really ready to face the world with your usual extroverted aggression. In real life, I think I'm very excited and opinionated and eager to 'do stuff,' but I go through phases where I want to drink hot chocolate and brood quietly in a corner while reading Megan Boyle's latest book. On those days, I'd probably wear a black turtleneck. But a lace peter pan collar dress and beret work, too.

I'm not wearing ANY jewelry in this look, which is extremely rare for me. But I think it works in this instance, because the collar almost acts as a necklace. Maybe the tiny chain on the belt can be a... bracelet or something? Or something.

MINT AND ROSE

Guys, I have GROUNDBREAKING news... I'm wearing pastel mint and pink!!!! Isn't it really exciting and surprising? I bet you're doing the Macaulay Culkin Home Alone face right now. Maybe it's cute and ironic that I either wear all black or all pale. I should seriously find something else to talk about besides my color scheme.

I feel like I've worn different variations of the same pastel shades so many times that they speak for themselves at this point. Although I would like to point out that the lacy kimono looks ethereal close up, like something an angel would wear if it had a fashion blog. I was about to type "Robes are my obsession" but I became overwhelmed with crippling self-awareness and cringed and tore fistfuls of hair out and decided to write this instead. There's a fine line between sounding like an apparel enthusiast versus sounding like an eager 13 year old who wants to become a fashion designer just because they watched a Project Runway marathon with their mom on a Sunday afternoon. Seems bleak...
