Let this look serve as a reminder that I don't wear boho chic floppy hats and flower crowns every day of the week. Sometimes I feel godly... and deck myself in white head to toe. I layered two transparent tops (one jersey, one mesh) under a pair of $20 shredded white overalls from Break Ice Trends. Paired with platform Sway boots, this ensemble is far from minimal despite the monochrome palette. Maxed out on simplicity.

When I drink Gatorade, I sweat high opacity acrylic drops in the exact color code of whatever flavor I consumed. Home Depot you can get really get it.

Of course Wizards of the West printed these leggings -- I'm on a roll. I'm literally going hard in the paint. Combined with this oversize jersey I picked up at Fallas Paredes, I look pretty poppin' for a walking ombre advertisement.

Up in blue flames this week... these vinyl wedges are my downright favorite pair of shoes. I wore them once to a punk show (remember this story from like, 2 years ago? ) and they broke while I was moshing. Another time they broke while I was crossing Hollywood Boulevard on my way to Goodwill. So, we've been through a lot, me and these shiny hunks. They've since been repaired with industrial grade glue so I think they'll last many more moshing endeavors and jaywalking excursions. 

This outfit is a dream for Vegas weather -- perforated mesh makes for ideal ventilation conditions while traipsing the Strip. Hit me up if you're ever out here. I'll show ya a good time.

You could take one look at my metallic varsity jacket and accurately guess that I've been living in it for the past several months. It matches everything -- even silver is enhanced by the gold sleeves and gives me the liberty to go for a 'mixed metals' theme. My favorite pairing is with boyfriend jeans, but today's look features a cropped box dress from Front Row Shop and cat-eye sunnies (my other obvious staple) from Zero UV. So where does the jacket hail from?? If you weren't already in the loop, NYLON has an online store called #NYLONshop with hundreds of pieces as cute (or cuter? is that within the realm of possibility?) as my varsity goodness. The inventory is artistically curated and it shows - so I might have to issue a warning before encouraging people to browse. There is absolutely NO WAY you will not fall head over heels in love with something.

Ugh... sometimes I simply cannot be bothered to wear anything other than sweatpants. But unlike SOME people *camera pans to crowd of teenagers emerging from Starbucks in knockoff Uggs and local university hoodies* my leisure look doesn't compromise luxury. Very important to spruce up a sartorial cop out witj heels and (if you're cool like me) a satin bomber jacket with MAJE embroidery. There's only one other thing this outfit calls for and it's an orange Mustang. Obviously.

One probably wouldn't expect to pair a tropical print varsity jacket with garments as preppy as these knit shorts and minimalist blouse. The jacket looks distinctly sporty, which is probably why I chose to pair it with anything but a pair of sweats and sneaker wedges. I love the juxtaposition of vibrant vacation prints with subtle staples that afford it sophistication and glamour -- makes me feel like I'm fun and serious AKA taking fun seriously. 

These Pink & Pepper peeptoe heels with a cut-outs and laces are NO JOKE. They're that one coworker who makes everyone else look lazy and unmotivated in comparison... in other words, all business. But unlike your brown nosing office mate, these heels actually know how to play. They might even order a margarita at Chipotle on lunch break... but would NEVER tell a soul. Pink & Pepper gets it right per usual.

no chain no gain

You know what I realize? I talk A LOT. I know so many bloggers who post photos of their outfits with a simple sentence acknowledging their readers, then call it a day. I envy that kind of casual lack of pressure to impress. But I don't relate to it at all. I feel like my voice, my idiosyncratic self-deprecation and anxiety about what my outfit means, personifies and redeems this blog. Redemption is a huge part of my life. I know it's not healthy to feel like you constantly have to prove that you're worth paying attention to... but that's part of my whole persona. I'm neurotic, I'm concerned you won't like me, I'm nervous that my outfit isn't good enough to blog about unaccompanied by frivolous text. And if you dislike those things or find my unnecessary commentary annoying... well. Can't say I didn't expect that reaction. I'm used to people thinking I'm 'too much' and named my blog accordingly. But I really really really hope that most people who visit my blog appreciate the effort I put into winning over their interest. Blogging is not about accruing fans, it's about earning friends. And I don't actually revel in being the subject of hatred.

Or maybe you hate me for other reasons... like the fact that I'm wearing a Raiders jersey (waddup Oakland). Can't apologize for that either. West Coast solidarity y'all.

Well, this crop top seems a little ironic for someone in my current financial standing. I'm coming out to the world as broke. But taking ownership by committing to the hustle -- this cash print top from Imomoi is my entry-level uniform. By the end of the year I want to ~own a car~ since that seems pretty symbolic of independence/adulthood. So I better get to work... fortunately I'm already in overalls and a baseball cap. ;)
